What does a small business website actually cost?

If you've ever tried to price out a website, you know how it goes. Every page says "it depends" and then asks you to book a call. It really does depend, but I'd rather give you real numbers up front, so here they are.

I'm Tyler. I'm a student here in Gainesville, and I build these sites myself for local businesses and for clients anywhere in the country. Everything below comes straight from my Services page, so it matches what you'll see when you ask me for a quote.

The three packages

Every project starts with one of three packages. These are starting prices. Your final quote depends on what your business needs.

  • Starter starts at $500. You get up to 3 pages, 1 revision round and 1 month of Third Hand Care, which is my support after launch. Delivery is about 2 weeks.
  • Growth starts at $900. You get up to 6 pages, 2 revision rounds and 3 months of Third Hand Care. Delivery is 2 to 3 weeks. It's the one marked "Most Popular" on my Services page.
  • Premium starts at $1,500. You get up to 10 pages, 3 revision rounds and 6 months of Third Hand Care. Delivery is 3 to 4 weeks.

Which one fits

Starter is for a business that mostly needs a clear online home: who you are, what you do and how to reach you. A lot of small sites start with a home page, a services page and a contact page, and add more later.

Growth gives you room to explain more, like several separate services or a longer about page. Premium is for a business with a lot to cover. If you're not sure, tell me what you do and I'll say which one I'd start with.

What pushes the price up

The package is the starting point. These are the things that move it:

  • More pages. Each additional page is $75.
  • More revisions. Each extra revision round is $50.
  • A faster timeline. Rush delivery starts at $200.
  • Bigger asks. Online quotes, booking, text reminders, accessibility help and social media management are separate services with their own pricing, so I quote them separately. That way you only pay for what you actually want.

Say you pick Growth and then decide you want one more page and a faster timeline. That's the Growth price, plus $75 for the page, plus the rush fee, which starts at $200. I'd tell you all of that before you agree to anything.

What keeps it down

You have more control over the price than you might think.

  • Know what you want to say. My process starts with a short talk about your goals. Then you send me your logo, photos, business info and a list of your services. When that's ready, the build goes smoothly.
  • Use your revision rounds well. Each package includes a set number. If you gather your feedback into one clear list instead of sending it in pieces, one round goes a long way.
  • Start small. A site with a few clear pages beats a big one nobody finishes. You can add pages later at $75 each.
  • Plan ahead. Standard delivery doesn't carry the rush fee.

How payment works

It's 50% as a deposit and 50% on delivery. After final payment, you own the finished website. You own your domain. Third Hand AI can manage it on your behalf.

What happens after launch

Every package includes a period of Third Hand Care. After that, it continues at $75 a month. Care covers:

  • hosting management
  • SSL management
  • minor text updates
  • image replacements
  • contact form monitoring
  • basic SEO health checks
  • monitoring
  • priority support

It doesn't cover new pages, major redesigns, logo or branding work, photography, large writing jobs or added functionality. If you want any of those, I quote them separately.

So a simple way to budget is the package price once, then $75 a month after the included period.

Why there's no single fixed price

A three page site for a small shop is a different job than a ten page site with a lot of content. I'd rather scope it with you than hand you a number that doesn't fit. That's why every project is scoped individually. Tell me what you do and what you want the site to do, and I can tell you which package I'd start with and what, if anything, I'd add.

The Services page has every package and add-on in one place. If you tell me a little about your business, I'll put together a custom quote, with no pressure.
